Paul Lucas, Marriage & Relationship Counsellor
I am passionate in helping relationships.
Really! You may expect a couples therapist to say that but it really is true. Keeping couples together is good for the couple and for the family. Being passionate in helping couples relationships also means passionate about keeping families together.
I think outside the box of traditional therapy.
I know that by the time couples come see me they need real, practical help. Therapy lingo just does not work. They need real conversations with someone that truly understands and is focused in getting them unstuck of, what may feel at the time, complete misery.
I am experienced in life and in therapy.
I am not one of those therapists that shows off their perfect life. I have walked down very similar paths as many of my clients. I have experienced hardship, difficult decisions, joys and let downs. And, I use the same techniques and strategies in my own marriage (of 18 years!) that I teach in my sessions. I have worked with hundreds of couples rebuild their relationships, sometimes from ground zero. I have the training and education that is highly specific to working with couples.
I am a level 3 Relational Life Therapist, Gottman trained, Prepare-Enrich certified, certificate from ICEEFT, and general training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Couples Therapy. I have received awards in my work including Top 3 Marriage Counsellors in Burlington and Hamilton Ontario, Silver Award from Burlington Votes and have maintained at least a 4.8 out of 5 from current and past clients.
What Clients Have Said…
